The camp brought together more than 20 participants from across Montreal, creating an atmosphere of friendship, creativity, and discovery. With a balance of educational workshops, outdoor adventures, and recreational activities, the camp provided something meaningful for every child.

A Community Effort

The camp was led by a dedicated team of volunteers, mentors, and educators who worked together to ensure a safe, inclusive, and enjoyable experience. Parents and families were also part of the journey, supporting activities and celebrating the children’s achievements at the closing ceremony.

For many campers, Summer Camp 2025 was more than just a holiday activity – it was a chance to build friendships, develop new skills, and strengthen their identity in a supportive community. The camp left lasting memories and inspired both children and parents to look forward to next year’s edition.

The money collected will be used to buy and distribute food baskets and distributed to needy people. we have the largest food basket program in Montreal. In previous years, we participated in the distribution of 400 – 600 baskets. This year, the goal is to distribute 500 baskets.

The basis for that is the report narrated from Ibn ‘Umar (may Allaah be pleased with him) who said: “The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) enjoined zakaat al-fitr, a saa’ of dates, or a saa’ of barley, upon all the Muslims, slave and free, male and female, young and old, and he commanded that it be paid before the people went out to pray.” Agreed upon; this version was narrated by al-Bukhaari.

And Abu Sa’eed al-Khudri narrated: “We used to pay zakaat al-fitr when the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) was alive, a saa’ of food or a saa’ of dates or a saa’ of barley or a saa’ of raisins or a saa’ of dried yoghurt.” Agreed upon.

RULES AND REGULATIONS:

1. Evaluation criteria: Quality of memorization; Tajweed rules; Voice & performance
2. Each memorized Juzu’ should be a complete Juzu’
3. Contestants are only allowed to participate in one category
4. Registration is open until April 20, 2021
5. The competition will be on May 1-3, 2021, the exact time an date will be sent to each participant.
6. Valuable prizes will be awarded to the winners of each category in a ceremony that will be held in a later date.
7. The Executive Committee of Al-Madinah Quran Academy has the right to call for a second round if necessary.
8. The Executive Committee of Al-Madinah Quran Academy has the right to cancel one or more categories if the number of participants is lower than a minimum number.
9. Participants of age 15 and above, who had participated in last year’s competition are not allowed to repeat the same level, except if they are participating with different set of Juzu’s. The minimum requirements for the new set of Juzu’s are as follows (EXCLUDING Juzu Amma):
– Category 2 (10 Juzu’): at least four new Juzu’s are required to repeat the same category.
– Category 3 (7 Juzu’): at least three new Juzu’s is required to repeat the same category.
– Category 4 (5 Juzu’): at least two new Juzu’s are required to repeat the same category.
– Category 5 (2 Juzu’): at least one new Juzu’s is required to repeat the same category.
– Category 6 (1 Juzu’): a new Juzu is required to repeat the same category.

• Different activities will be used to teach those skills
• The sessions will be every Sunday 3:30pm-4.30pm at the center, starting from the 17th of October 2021 and ending on the 12th of December 2021
• The sessions will be delivered in English only
• Attending ALL sessions is highly recommended to make sure full benefits are reaped

The meaning of Fidya is an expiation or compensation donation, paid by individuals who cannot fulfill the obligation of fasting due to illness or old age. Fidya can be calculated as $15 for each day missed or $450 for 30 days of Ramadan per person. One can pay it all in one shot or can be paid daily for the missed days.

The cost is based on the average cost of a basic meal throughout Canada. Of course, if on average, you spend more per meal, it is permissible to adjust the price accordingly.

Foula est titulaire d’une maîtrise en orthophonie et pratique depuis plusieurs années. Elle travaille auprès d’enfants ayant des troubles de langage.

Elle expliquera le métier d’orthopédagogue, les interventions de l’orthopédagogue ainsi que des idées de jeux éducatifs ayant pour but de stimuler le développement langagier de vos enfants.
