Vision and Mission

Al-Madinah Center’s mission is to establish and operate a much-needed community center in the golden heart of Montreal for the families and students working, studying or living in downtown Montreal. It is catering to all social and ethnic groups Muslims and non Muslims.

Vision

Al-Madinah Center plans to be the destination of choice for all Muslims in downtown Montreal where they can perform their religious obligations in peace and tranquility. It will serve, as well, as a window through which the Canadian society may learn about Islam and Muslims.

Values

All trustees, directors, executives and members of the organization conduct themselves with the utmost integrity and respect in their relationships with their community, other Muslim organizations, and the Montreal community at large, aspiring to be the role model of Islamic charitable leadership in Montreal.

Goals and Objectives

Al-Madinah Center draws upon its members’ business expertise, management skills, sharia knowledge, and its team’s good connections with the various organizations in the city, to put together a successful plan to maintain and operate the central mosque in downtown Montreal.

The main objectives of this project are:

  • To acquire, maintain and operate a community space in downtown for social, cultural, and community activities catering to the Muslim community and their children. Non-Muslims are also welcome to join any services and activities
  • To organize and celebrate important Muslim festivals to develop bondage among local multicultural ethnic community.
  • To organize and encourage members to provide education and tutoring services in Mathematics, Science, English, French, and Islamic Studies to high school & primary school children and adults of local community (Muslims and non-Muslims) to improve school grades and to develop better moral and ethical values
  • To organize and raise funds to support low income families, homeless people, shelters, and local food banks
  • To foster an environment where Muslims can observe their Islamic principles and maintain the Islamic heritage
  • To undertake and partake in designated activities that promote social dialogue and lead to better understanding of Islam, as a religion of tolerance and peaceful coexistence, within the Canadian society
